The Gifford Pinchot National Forest intends to acquire construction services for work related to water system improvements at Forest Service facilities on the Cowlitz Valley Ranger District in Lewis County, Washington. Work includes removal of fire hydrants and associated underground piping, removal and disposal of a sprinkler system, design and installation of a new sprinkler system, and other services related to water system improvement. The estimated cost of the project is between $100,000 and $250,000.
A Request for Proposal will be issued on or around July 26, 2010. As this is a total HubZone set aside, only certified Hub Zone small business concerns will be considered for award. The applicable NAICS code is 237110 -Water and Sewer Line and Related Structures Construction- with a corresponding small business size standard of $33.5 million. Offerors will be evaluated on price, experience, past performance, and other factors. A single contract will be awarded to the offeror whose offer, conforming to the solicitation, is the best value to the government. The period of performance will be 60 days from issuance of a Notice to Proceed, which is anticipated to occur on or around September 1, 2010.
