The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), Fort Detrick, MD intends to issue a sole source award utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures to Gasmet Technologies, Inc. for Gasmet CR-series Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy FTIR system and accessories.

The US Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense (USAMRICD) requires a system of gas analysis that is capable of detecting and quantifying a broad range of toxicant gases and gas mixtures for USAMRICD research projects. The Gasmet CR-series Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) system is uniquely capable of meeting the requirements of USAMRICD. The unit required must be broadly configurable to accurately measure a variety of toxic gases, must be able to resist attack and maintain accuracy while analyzing a variety of corrosive gases and gas mixtures, and must be compatible with existing Gasmet hardware and software already in USAMRICD's inventory. It must be further compatible with specific LabVIEW code written at USAMRICD for use with Gasmet's Calcmet software and dynamic data exchange program. Several Gasmet units are also already in use at USAMRICD and expertise in their use presently exists within the institute. The Gasmet CR-series Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy FTIR system is uniquely capable of meeting the requirements listed above.
