NASA/KSC has a requirement for a quantity of 4 (four) Lithium Ion Iron Phosphate(LFP) battery modules. NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from International Battery,Inc. International Batterys IB 28VDC 027 UPS 160 FHE SX SPF DS CC Lithium Ion IronPhosphate (LFP) battery module have been qualified to meet the requirements specified inthe 625EPC00003 specification. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item usingFAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications toperform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m.local time on March 9th 2011. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solelyfor the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on acompetitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed efforton a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solelywithin the discretion of the government.
