MICHIGAN GROUP #4 MINE RECLAMATION
The Department of the Interior's Office of Surface Mining Reclamation & Enforcement intends to release an Invitation for Bid (IFB), Solicitation No. S17PS00016 for Michigan Shaft- Group # 4 project on or about 22AUG2017. The proposed project involves exploring and stabilizing 10 mine shafts located at five different sites. In addition, at two of the sites foundations from remnants of the abandoned mine operations will be removed from the sites. The five sites are located in the city of Saginaw (2), near Chesaning (2) in Saginaw County, and near Albion (1) in Calhoun County, Michigan. Estimated price range is $1-5M. Generally, the work will consist of exploratory angle drilling with a sonic drill to locate the shafts and if open areas are found fill them with a cement grout mixture. The mine building foundations shall be dismantled and removed from the sites. The IFB will result in a single, firm fixed price contract to be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. The IFB will be released publicly at https://www.fedconnect.net and https://www.fbo.gov, and all documents in the solicitation package can be viewed by clicking "Search Public Opportunities" on the Home page, then searching by "Reference Number" S17PS00016. No hard copies of the IFB will be issued. Amendments, if any, will also be posted on FedConnect and FBO. Pre-Bid Conference will be held on or about 07SEP2017. Bids will be due on or about 20SEP2017. Contractors must have an ACTIVE registration with reps and certs at https://www.sam.gov.
