This is a pre-solicitation synopsis in accordance with FAR Part 5. The United States Coast Surface Forces Logistics Center has a requirement the acquisition of engine parts for the Yanmar engines installed aboard the USCG CB-OTH MK II-23' Zodiac, CB-OTH MK III-23' Zodiac, CB-M-17'Zodiac, and the SRP-23" Zodiac non-standard Coast Guard small boats. All parts supplied must be genuine OEM - no substitutes or aftermarket parts shall be accepted.

All parts shall be preserved, packaged, and marked in accordance with Coast Guard specifications. It is anticipated to award a fixed-price Requirements-type contract consisting of one base year and four option years.

It is Government's belief that only Yanmar, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), or their authorized distributors can provide these supplies while ensuring exact fit, form and function with existing equipment. All technical and engineering data is proprietary to the OEM and is not available for release, therefore it is the Government's intent to solicit only to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Yanmar, and/or their authorized distributors. Concerns were given the opportunity to submit their capabilities in the Sources Sought Notice published on FBO on 06 JAN 2014.

Request for Proposal (RFP) Number HSCG40-14-R-52005 shall be available for download from FedBizOpps on or about March 24. 2014. This date is ESTIMATED at best. It is the offerors responsibility to periodically check FedBizOpps on or about this date for availability. The due date for proposals is estimated to be April 30, 2014 but the final deadline for submission of proposals shall be established upon release of the solicitation. This synopsis is issued pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. For information regarding this acquisition, contact the Contracting officials listed herein.
