About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime has issued a Special Notice regarding the consolidation of two contract requirements for pneumatic wheel assemblies. This notice, published on March 3, 2025, with a due date of April 10, 2025, is specifically related to the Tire Manufacturing sector (NAICS 326211) and Vehicular Brake, Steering, Axle, Wheel, and Track Components (PSC 2530). The agency emphasizes that this is not a solicitation for offers and no contract will be awarded directly from this notice. Instead, it serves as a formal notification of the agency's intent to consolidate previously separate contract requirements for wheel assemblies. The notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 7.107-5(c) Notification to the Public of Consolidation of Contract Requirements.
The primary purpose of this Special Notice is to provide transparency about the Defense Logistics Agency's determination that consolidating the two wheel assembly requirements is necessary and justified. The agency has concluded that the benefits of the consolidated acquisition substantially exceed alternative acquisition methods, meeting the requirements of FAR 1.107. While no specific eligibility criteria or direct contractor participation instructions are provided, the notice indicates that a redacted Consolidation Determination memorandum detailing the rationale will be attached to the future solicitation when published on SAM.gov. Contractors interested in this potential opportunity should closely monitor future solicitation documents for detailed requirements, specifications, and participation guidelines. The consolidation suggests a strategic approach to procurement that aims to potentially streamline processes, reduce administrative overhead, and potentially create more competitive and efficient contract opportunities in the wheel and tire assembly market.
