About this opportunity
The United States Department of Agriculture Forest Service is seeking to procure wildlife-friendly metal jack-rail fencing for the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area (SMNRA) in Las Vegas, Nevada. The solicitation requires the purchase of 1,574 12' steel tubing fence rails, 585 3-rail guzzler jacks with caps, 76 3-piece jack corner sets, and 42 3-rail jack ravine adaptors to enclose nine separate spring emergences. The fencing must be designed with specific technical requirements, including positioning upper rails at 42" and bottom rails at 17", with jacks that must be capped to prevent wildlife entrapment. Proposals must be submitted via email to adam.koepke@usda.gov by March 25, 2025, at 1500 Mountain Time, and will be evaluated based on best value considering price and other factors. The government will award the contract to the most responsible offeror who meets all solicitation requirements.
The contract is designated as a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 332323 with a size standard of 500 employees. The procurement falls under the Ornamental and Architectural Metal Work Manufacturing category and the Fencing, Fences, Gates and Components product service code. Delivery is scheduled for June 13, 2025, with a performance period from March 31, 2025, to December 31, 2025. The total project involves installing 6,787 feet of metal jack-rail fencing, with delivery to the USDA Forest Service Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest/SMNRA Kyle Administrative Site in Las Vegas, Nevada. While no incumbent contractor is specified, the solicitation represents a targeted procurement to enhance wildlife protection and spring area management in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area.
