About this opportunity

The United States Fish and Wildlife Service intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price purchase order to SeqGen for maintenance and repair services of a 3730XL DNA Sequencer used in Bull Trout research at the Pacific Region FAC Program and Abernathy FTC. The justification for this limited source contract is based on SeqGen being the only vendor with exclusively trained and certified engineers capable of servicing this specific genetic testing equipment. The contract will be processed under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold with authority from FAR subpart 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) and (ii), allowing for a non-competitive procurement. Interested parties have until January 30, 2025, at 3:00 PM EST to submit capability statements or evidence of competitive advantage, though the government retains sole discretion on proceeding with this sole-source award. The specific cost details are not explicitly stated in the notice, but the justification document indicates the pricing was deemed fair and reasonable based on comparisons to new equipment costs and previous service contract pricing with SeqGen.
