About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Maritime Norfolk at Norfolk Naval Shipyard is seeking to procure one VIRAGO 700 Series 3D Printer through a Firm Fixed Price single award contract. The required item is a 21 x 28 x 31 inch fully-enclosed heated bed 3D printer operating at 110V and includes a one-year warranty for parts and labor. This procurement is designated as a brand name only acquisition, meaning only the specific VIRAGO 700 Series model will be considered. The contract will be evaluated using Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) criteria, prioritizing the lowest-priced technically compliant proposal. The solicitation number SPMYM125Q0083 is expected to be available on July 15, 2025, with quotes due by 3:00 PM EST on July 18, 2025. All responses must be submitted electronically to Monica Richardson at monica.richardson@dla.mil with the solicitation number included in the subject line.
This procurement is set aside exclusively for small businesses operating under NAICS code 333248 (All Other Industrial Machinery Manufacturing) with a size standard of 750 employees. The contract requires delivery within 30 days after award, indicating an urgent operational need for the 3D printing equipment. Only one unit of the VIRAGO 700 Series printer is being procured, suggesting this may be for evaluation, prototyping, or specialized manufacturing purposes at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. No specific contract value has been disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, though the single-unit quantity and commercial nature of the item suggests a relatively modest procurement value. Offerors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database and self-certify they are not suspended or debarred from federal contracting. The solicitation will only be available through electronic download from SAM.gov, with no hardcopy versions or telephone requests accepted.
