About this opportunity

The United States Postal Service (USPS) Facilities National Programs Category Management Team is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential suppliers for comprehensive loading dock and interior door solutions across its nationwide facilities. The RFI seeks vendors capable of providing equipment such as sectional overhead doors, bumpers, seals, air-powered and hydraulic levelers, truck restraints, communication packages, wheel chocks, and security interior traffic doors. USPS, which owns or leases approximately 32,000 facilities, is targeting suppliers with expertise in either complete dock solutions or specific component needs to support new construction, facility expansions, and maintenance requirements. The RFI was released on February 7, 2025, with responses due by March 7, 2025, at 4:00 PM Eastern time. Interested suppliers must submit their company name, point-of-contact information, and a capabilities statement via email to specified USPS contacts, with the subject line "USPS Loading Dock and Doors Solution RFI".

This RFI is not a formal solicitation or request for proposal, but rather a market research initiative to promote competition and gather information about potential suppliers. There are no specific set-aside designations for this opportunity, and the RFI does not indicate award values or precise budget ranges. USPS plans to host a future event where RFI respondents will be invited to participate, suggesting potential future contract opportunities. The procurement falls under the NAICS Category 332321 (Metal Window and Door Manufacturing) and PSC Category Z2AZ (Repair or Alteration of Other Administrative Facilities and Service Buildings). Suppliers should note that responses will not be considered offers, cannot form a binding agreement, and will not be compensated by USPS. The agency reserves the right to review or cancel the RFI at any time, maintaining flexibility in its procurement approach.
