About this opportunity
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Shared Services Center has issued a Special Notice for a sole source procurement to upgrade Tomographic Particle Image Velocimetry (Tomo-PIV) cameras. NASA/NSSC intends to award a sole source contract to LAVISION, INC. under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) as the sole provider of the required camera upgrades. The performance location will be at NASA's Ames Research Center.
The purpose of this procurement is to upgrade four existing 16MP LaVision cameras to improve their spatial resolution and light sensitivity for Tomo-PIV applications. This will enable better measurement of flow fields around rotors, which is critical for validating computational fluid dynamics models and understanding the relationship between rotor wake and performance. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications in writing by July 26, 2024 for the government's consideration of a competitive procurement. NASA will be using FAR Part 12 and 13 procedures to acquire these commercial items and services, and the NAICS code is 334519 - Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing.
