This is a pre-solicitation notice.
The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS) Southeast Area (SEA) Chemistry Research Unit in Gainesville, FL., has a requirement to update two laboratories, to accommodate the scientist research. The work consists of but is not limited to: The contractor shall provide all professional services necessary to remove or cap existing cabinetry (e.g., benches, shelving, plumbing) in two labs, including asbestos counters, and replace these items with new casework (e.g., cabinets, benches, counters, shelves, countertops for sensitive instrumentation).
USDA ARS SEA intends to issue a Request for Proposals for a firm fixed priced construction contract. Contractors shall not directly contact the facility to discuss this requirement. During the solicitation phase, contractors will be provided the opportunity for a site visit and to ask any relevant questions.
This notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute the Request for Proposal (RFP). The Government anticipates issuing an RFP for this requirement on about Aug 26, 2020. This notice does not commit the U.S. Government to contract for these services.
