Update #1 ·

Added: Jun 05, 2009 4:47 pm The Military Sealift Command (MSC) has a requirement to procure four (4) Machinery Control Systems (MCS) for the T-ARS 50 Class in the 2010-2013 timeframe. The four ships are the USNS SAFEGUARD, SALVOR, GRASP, and GRAPPLE . A new Machinery Control System (MCS) shall be provided for control and monitoring to replace the functionality of the existing Machinery Centralized Control System. The MCS shall also replace/interface with planned ship system upgrades and shall do so using a PLC based engineering plant control and monitor system to be installed on the four ships of the T-ARS 50 Class. The MCS shall also include the integration of various independent IC alarm subsystems located throughout the ship.

The Contractor must provide this requirement as a single source vendor (SSV) package by the MCS supplier. The goal of the MCS supplier will be to provide a common MCS design that can be applied to all four (4) vessels in the class.
