About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 13 switches (NSN 7R-5930-015745925-P8) with specific requirements for FAA-Certified parts. The procurement will only consider suppliers who can provide FAA Authorized Release Certificates (FAA Form 8130-3 Airworthy Approval Tag) from certified repair stations under 14 CFR Part 14 regulations. The government intends to solicit and negotiate with a single source under FAR 6.302-1 authority, though interested parties may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements within 45 days of the notice publication. Potential suppliers can obtain technical documentation through the DoDSingle Stock Point (DODSSP) using online resources like ASSIST-Online or by contacting their help desk. The government will review submissions to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement, with the final determination remaining solely at their discretion.
The pre-solicitation notice indicates no specific set-aside status for this contract opportunity, and the contract will be for delivery FOB origin with early and incremental deliveries preferred. The government is not utilizing FAR Part 12 policies for commercial item acquisition, but interested parties may still identify commercial item capabilities within 15 days of the notice. While no specific award value is mentioned, the quantity of 13 switches suggests a focused, potentially specialized procurement. The contract opportunity was posted on September 12, 2024, with responses due by January 10, 2025, providing approximately four months for potential suppliers to prepare and submit their documentation. The procurement is classified under PSC Category 5930 for Switches, indicating a technical, potentially aerospace or military-grade component requirement.
