Added: Apr 12, 2017 2:34 pm The purpose of this project was to construct a temporary levee to prevent the Boise River from overtopping a pit wall. The work consisted of three main elements. First, site work was required along certain sections of the levee to provide a relatively smooth, flat foundation for the Hesco bastions. A turn-around area was constructed at the upstream end of the levee alignment. Second, riprap was spread and placed on the river side of the levee alignment. And third, the temporary levee was constructed using Government-furnished Hesco bastions. The levee will be approximately 4300 feet in length
