About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 10 helical springs (NSN 1H-5360-016336654-D0) with Technical Data Package (TDP) Version 002, to be delivered to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. The proposed contract will be negotiated under FAR 6.302-1, which allows for single-source procurement, though the agency is open to receiving capability statements or proposals from interested vendors within 45 days of the notice publication. While this is not a competitive solicitation, the government will consider all submissions received during this period and retain sole discretion in determining whether to pursue a competitive procurement. The evaluation will primarily focus on vendors' ability to meet the specific technical requirements and deliver the specified quantity of springs. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on March 21, 2025, with a response deadline of April 7, 2025.
There are no specific set-aside designations for this contract opportunity, which suggests it is open to all qualified vendors. The procurement is for a relatively small quantity of 10 springs, indicating this may be a specialized or replacement order rather than a large-scale procurement. No specific award value or budget range is mentioned in the notice, and information about potential incumbent contractors is not disclosed. The delivery location is specified as N50286 at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, with the springs classified under Product Service Code (PSC) 5360 for coil, flat, leaf, and wire springs. The government's approach suggests this is a targeted procurement with specific technical requirements, and vendors interested in responding should carefully review the technical details and be prepared to demonstrate their capabilities within the specified response window.
