About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Aviation is seeking a sole source contract with General Electric Company for a proprietary forecasting and analysis tool supporting the J85 Engine supply chain management. The procurement, identified by solicitation number SPE4AX-25-R-J851, will cover comprehensive supply chain functions including demand planning, material management, warehousing, reliability improvements, and field customer service support. The contract will focus on managing a Bill of Materials (BOM) consisting of 5,736 DLA-managed consumable and USAF-managed depot-level reparable parts for the J85 Engine, which powers the T-38A/C Talon training aircraft. Interested parties must submit their capability statements or proposals electronically to Andrew Alverson by May 8, 2025, at 3:00 PM EST. All offerors are required to be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to potential award.

The solicitation is not set aside for any specific business category and will be awarded under FAR 6.302-1 authority, allowing for direct negotiation with General Electric Company. The contract will have a five-year performance period, comprising one seven-month base period and one four-year and five-month option period. The procurement will be added to the existing GE J85 Contract (SPE4AX-20-D-9445) and is categorized under NAICS code 336412 for Aircraft Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing. The place of performance is within the United States, specifically supporting United States Air Force customers. While specific award value is not detailed, the comprehensive nature of the supply chain management tool suggests a significant potential contract scope for supporting the J85 Engine's maintenance and operational readiness.
