About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime is seeking to procure a Mass Air Flow Sensor with National Stock Number 2990-014565701. The pre-solicitation notice indicates a highly specialized procurement process focused on maintaining specific engineering and manufacturing quality standards. Currently, Dynalec Corporation is an approved source for this item, and the agency is interested in potentially identifying additional qualified manufacturers. The solicitation requires potential contractors to submit a comprehensive Source Approval Request (SAR) package demonstrating their ability to manufacture the product at or above the original equipment manufacturer's quality standards. Interested companies must provide all technical documentation by April 29, 2025, directly to Contract Specialist John McCarthy, who can be reached at john.mccarthy@dla.mil.

The pre-solicitation notice does not indicate a specific set-aside designation, and no specific award value or quantity is mentioned in the documentation. The procurement is categorized under NAICS code 336390 for Other Motor Vehicle Parts Manufacturing and PSC code 2990 for Miscellaneous Engine Accessories. The qualification process is rigorous, requiring potential alternate sources to meet strict engineering source approval procedures established by the design control activity. An alternate source must demonstrate equivalent or superior manufacturing capabilities, data rights, and technical knowledge to be considered. The government will evaluate submissions based on their ability to maintain the unique design capability and manufacturing expertise required for this specific sensor.
