About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 651 units of hexagon head cap screws under NSN 1H-5305-014630511-X6. The procurement requires delivery to two DLA distribution centers: New Cumberland, Pennsylvania and Tracy, California. This acquisition mandates engineering source approval from the design control activity to maintain part quality, and suppliers must possess existing unique design capability, engineering skills, and manufacturing knowledge. Only approved sources with retained data rights and technical knowledge essential to part quality are qualified to bid, though alternate sources may qualify through approved procedures from the cognizant Government engineering activity. The pre-solicitation was posted on June 25, 2025, with responses due by July 28, 2025.
This opportunity is designated as a 100% total small business set-aside under FAR clause 52.219-6, with the specific set-aside type to be determined in the final solicitation from among several categories including HUBZone, service-disabled veteran-owned, women-owned, or historically black college and university set-asides. The Government has determined through market research that FAR Part 12 commercial item acquisition procedures will not be used for this procurement. Interested commercial item suppliers have 15 days from the notice date to identify their capability to satisfy the requirement. No incumbent contractors, award values, or budget ranges are specified in this pre-solicitation notice, and the procurement involves a single delivery of the specified screw quantity rather than ongoing services.
