The National Park Service, Southeast Region intends to award a Firm Fixed price award for The replacement of two roofs at Everglades National Park. Contractor is to supply all materials, supplies, equipment and incidentals necessary for the construction. Project Location: Housing Units H120 and H124 located at the Everglades National Park, Pine Island District Housing at 40001 SR 9336, Homestead, FL 33134. The Work consists of the following on each unit: 1. Remove existing flat and low slope roof built up roof systems. 2. Remove existing wood fascia and wood siding. 3. Repair of roof truss ends, replace damaged roof insulation and repair underside tongue and groove ceiling. 4. Install new three ply modified bituminous built up roofing system over existing and new insulation. 5. Install new pre-finished fiber cement siding. 6. Install new metal fascia and provide for all roof penetrations and re-install existing roof features and indicated on drawings. Project will be constructed under a single prime contract. Estimated Price Range: $50,000 - $200,000. To be considered, a company must meet the following minimum requirements: (1) Contractors must have been in the construction business for a minimum of three years as of the date of this solicitation. There is no requirement that eligible contracting firms remained the identical entity for the three-year period, although legal entity changes (such as from a partnership to a corporation) that occurred during this five-year period should be clearly explained, and if key personnel were retained, this should also be clearly explained. (2) Contractor must be capable of obtaining performance and payment bonds for 100% of the contract price. (3) Company must submit information for a minimum of one and a maximum of five comparable projects that have either been completed within the past five years or are currently ongoing. Comparable projects are defined as roof projects with similar scopes of work and costs .
The Qualification Statements will be evaluated in accordance with the criteria stated: experience/performance and capabilities. The price proposals for only the most qualified contractors will be considered. Price will be considered more important than the other evaluation factors. However, the National Park Service will select the offeror that provides the best value to the National Park Service.
