CATI is the state of the art in telephone survey methodology. CATI programs also known as "telephone interview programs and upgrades" save valuable person-hours on the telephone and save significant time cleaning and processing data because it employs computer technology rather than manual entry of survey responses. CATI programs significantly reduce errors in telephone interviewing compared to paper and pencil administration becauseit removes the opportunity for many human errors.
