About this opportunity

This notice announces a stewardship contract for hazard tree removal services along Forest Service Road 8S09 on the Bass Lake Ranger District of the Sierra National Forest. The U.S. Department of Agriculture Forest Service Pacific Southwest Region seeks to award an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract to remove approximately 1,402 CCF of sawtimber and 3,721 CCF of biomass/cull logs through felling, skidding, and hauling. A pre-solicitation package will be posted on June 25th, and proposals will be due by July 27th. A pre-bid site visit is scheduled for June 29th, and all technical questions must be submitted through the solicitation package.

There is no set-aside designated for this procurement. The project area encompasses approximately 305 acres located in T7S R23E., Section: 22, 27, 28, 33, 34 and T8S R23E., Section: 3. Contractors are expected to fully remove 1,402 CCF of sawtimber and 3,721 CCF of biomass/cull logs as hazardous trees along the road. Award is anticipated within 60 days of the response deadline, and the notice is being posted to meet the requirements of FAR 5.201.

The solicitation and any resultant contract will be a stewardship project as authorized in accordance with Section 8205 of Public Law 113-79, the Agricultural Act of 2014 as amended under Section 204 & 207 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act (Omnibus Bill 2018).

This project is being advertised for full and open competition.

This acquisition has been tailored to fit the Governments need for trading goods for services. The Peck Rd Hazard Tree Project is located on the Bass Lake Ranger District of the Sierra National Forest. The Project area is approximately 305 acres and includes felling, skidding and removal of roadside hazards along Forest Service road 8S09.

The project includes removal of approximately 1,402 CCF of Sawtimber and 3,721 CCF of Biomass/Cull Logs along with road maintenance.

Project Location - The Peck Rd Hazard Tree project is located in the Whiskey Fall recreation area. The legal description is T7S R23E., Section: 22, 27, 28, 33, 34 and T8S R23E., Section: 3 of the Mount Diablo Base Meridian.

The solicitation package will be uploaded approximately June 25th, 2020. The date of award is expected to be within 60 days after the actual response date, which will be stated in the package and is subject to change with amendments to the solicitation.

The contractors are encouraged to visit the site prior to the response date. A prebid meeting on site is scheduled for 06/29/2020, more information about the prebid meeting will be available in the solicitation.
