The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Lifecycle Management Center at Robins Air Force Base is procuring these services. Notice text

NSN 4310-01-121-0806, part number 58313-41607-1, is an air reciprocating compressor used on the MHU-196/M and MHU-204/M munitions handling trailers. It is an altered item made from Bendix part number 277885. The Bendix service number for this compressor is 275116.
Alterations shown on drawing 58313-41607-1 do not require actual modification of the compressor or its internal components. The altered item drawing identifies specific orientations for components having optional mounting positions. It also identifies a specific paint color for the assembly.
Bendix air compressor, part number 277885 is a commercial off-the-shelf item originally designed as part of the air brake system used on buses, large tracks, and semi-trailer trucks.
Because it was a commercial item, the Air Force never developed its own repair and overhaul technical data. Service manuals were made available commercially from the original manufacturer.
Manufacturing of this item has been discontinued for several years. The item is available rebuilt on an exchange basis. Any shop qualified to repair and overhaul Bendix tractor trailer braking systems should be qualified to repair this item..
