Added: Sep 11, 2013 2:46 pm The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) intends to award a sole source fixed-price contract to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, 77 Water Street, FL 8, New York, NY 10005.  The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) supports and represents students attending 47 member schools that include public Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), medical schools and law schools.  TMCF is a 501(3)(3) tax exempt organization.  The contract between the SEC and TMCF will provide the cooperative framework for the parties to foster a mutually supportive relationship that enhances the SEC's ability to meets its objectives as required by the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, Section 342 (f).  The parties' shared interest in increasing opportunities for women and minority students in STEM-related occupations within SEC and opportunities within financial services careers furthers the mission of both parties and contributes to achieving the objectives of the contract.  Consistent with DFA Section 342(f)(4), the contract is intended to develop opportunities for minorities and women to place talented young minorities and women in industry internships, summer employment and full-time positions.  Consistent with DFA Section 342(f)(1), through this contract, the SEC will actively recruit at TMCF member schools for both internship and full time career opportunities at the SEC.  The contract value for the one year term is $25,000.
