The contract falls under NAICS code 811219 for Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance, with a small business size standard of $34M. NIST anticipates awarding a firm-fixed-price contract for this specialized technical service requirement. The agency is seeking to procure comprehensive support for an optical frequency comb system through a potentially single-source procurement process.
Contractors interested in competing for this opportunity must demonstrate their capability to satisfy NIST's requirements by submitting written documentation to the Contract Specialist, Lisa Stevens, via email by May 2, 2025. The purpose of this notice is to determine whether competitive procedures could be used for the acquisition, with potential award estimated by May 31, 2025. The Statement of Work details a one-year base service agreement with two potential option years, covering remote and onsite technical support for an optical frequency comb system. Key service requirements include next business day response times, remote software/firmware updates, and guaranteed repair service within 4-8 weeks. The contract will cover up to 60 hours of repair time annually, with U.S.-based service engineers providing support through email, telephone, or web conference. Payments will be made quarterly on a firm-fixed-price basis, contingent upon successful installation, testing, and performance verification of the system.
