About this opportunity
This pre-solicitation notice is for the construction of an island in Upper Pool 4 of the Mississippi River as part of the Navigation and Ecosystem Sustainability Program. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District will procure a contractor to build the island using granular fill from an existing dredging stockpile and fine fill from access and habitat dredging. The contractor will also place riprap along the shoreline and plant grass and willows. This total small business set-aside contract objectives include increasing floodplain forest and fish habitat.
The opportunity is set aside only for small businesses and is designated under NAICS codes 237990 and 237310. Construction will use dredged materials from ongoing channel maintenance activities in the area. No incumbent is identified and the pre-solicitation notice does not include an estimated value, but the scope of constructing an entire island suggests this could be a sizable award. The deadline to submit any questions regarding this pre-solicitation is not provided.
