About this opportunity
The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCIA) has issued a Request for Information (RFI) seeking industry input on the Next Generation Deployable Air Command and Control System. This RFI, referenced as MS-CO-423333-AirC2, aims to explore potential solutions for replacing the current air command and control infrastructure with an enhanced, more capable system. The opportunity is being managed through the Department of Commerce Bureau of Industry and Security and was posted on February 28, 2025, with responses due by March 31, 2025. The agency is specifically interested in understanding the feasibility of procuring Off-The-Shelf products that can either provide a complete capability or serve as modular components within a larger System of Systems architecture. The RFI invites potential suppliers to submit detailed technical information, product specifications, and potential solution approaches.
Contractors responding to this RFI must provide comprehensive technical details, including information about deployable military shelters, compute infrastructure, network capabilities, and communication systems. The objective is to identify solutions that can support tactical air command and control operations, with specific requirements for transportability across air, land, and sea platforms, and compliance with NATO's digital backbone integration standards. Key technical specifications include a minimum of 600 x86 CPU cores, 6TB RAM, support for Link 16 and Link 22 tactical data links, and chemical/biological protection capabilities. Participation is voluntary, and responses will be considered informational and non-binding, with no guarantee of future procurement. Contractors are encouraged to submit technical data sheets, product pricing, marketing materials, and descriptions of existing installations. The RFI emphasizes that negative responses will not prejudice future procurement opportunities, and NCIA will not be liable for any expenses incurred by participating firms in preparing their submissions.
