About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure a multi-purpose aircraft meter, specifically National Stock Number 7R-5210-017105697-SX, with a quantity of 4 units to be delivered FOB Origin. This pre-solicitation notice indicates a highly specialized procurement process where source approval is critical, as the item is considered flight-critical and requires extensive technical validation. Potential contractors must submit comprehensive technical data and source approval information using the NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Source Approval Information Brochures for either spares or repairs. The evaluation criteria will focus on the contractor's ability to meet stringent technical requirements and demonstrate previous production experience with similar items. Interested parties have until February 17, 2025, to submit their proposals, with a notable requirement that offers lacking complete source approval documentation will be automatically disqualified.
The procurement is not designated with any specific set-aside, and the current notice does not identify incumbent contractors. While the specific award value is not disclosed, the procurement involves a relatively small quantity of four meters, suggesting a moderate-value contract. The Navy's approach indicates a preference for proven, qualified sources with extensive technical capabilities in aircraft measurement systems. Contractors without prior government source approval must submit detailed technical documentation demonstrating their manufacturing capabilities and technical competence. The procurement process allows for potential award continuation even if source approval evaluations cannot be completed within the expected timeframe, prioritizing fleet support needs. Interested parties without internet access can obtain additional documentation through the DLA Document Services by phone or mail, with specific contact information provided in the notice.
