About this opportunity
The Memphis District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers seeks three hydraulic-driven double drum waterfall winches with diesel-hydraulic power unit systems for use on a Mat Loading Unit. The solicitation requires the winches be suitable for marine operation, comparable to AMClyde Frame 8 two-drum winch systems, and able to hold 1,000 feet of 1-1/8 inch cable and support 6,000-8,000 pounds of anchors. Questions are due by May 27, 2021 and proposals are due by June 4, 2021. Award will be made on a firm fixed price basis for delivery to Ensley Engineer Yard in Memphis, Tennessee by June 30, 2021.
The requirement is set aside for total small business and falls under NAICS code 333912 (Industrial Truck, Tractor, Trailer, and Stacker Machinery Manufacturing) and PSC code 3635 (Winches, Industrial) . An amendment extended the response deadline to June 4, 2021 and provided clarification on requirements. The winches will replace over 30-year old obsolete units on the MLU and support marine operations out of Memphis, Tennessee.
Notice text
The Memphis District USACE has a requirement for three (3) hydraulic-driven double drum waterfall winches with diesel-hydraulic power unit systems for the Mat Loading Unit (MLU). The winches need to be suitable for operation in a marine environment, with features comparable to those of AMClyde Frame 8 two-drum winch system. The winches should also be able to hold 1000 feet of 1-1/8 inch cable on upper and lower drums and between 6,000-8,000 lb. anchors on the starboard and port sides of the barge. The current winches on the MLU are over 30 years old. One winch is inoperative and finding parts for older winches are difficult because they are obsolete.
