About this opportunity

The USDA Forest Service Rocky Mountain Region will solicit proposals for the Mariposa Area Road Resurfacing project to conduct reconditioning and add aggregate surfacing to 8.68 miles of existing aggregate surface roads in the Mariposa area of the Pagosa Ranger District, Archuleta County, Colorado. Contractors must maintain traffic control at all times, keep haul roads open, and provide dust abatement as needed. Proposals are due May 20, 2022. The solicitation and associated drawings and specifications will be issued around April 27, 2022. Evaluation will consider technical approach, past performance, and price.

This requirement has been set aside for total small business and is estimated between $500,000 to $1,000,000. The work includes reconditioning, resurfacing, and compacting aggregate on segments of NFSR 024, NFSR 665 and NFSR 735 from June 27, 2022 to August 30, 2023. Contractors must register in SAM and be actively registered to submit proposals and be considered for award.

SITE VISIT INFORMATION

A site viisit is planned prior to issuance of the solicitation. 

Date: May 17, 2022

Time: 10:00 a.m. MT

Location: Nipple Mountain Gravel Pit (1/4 mile beyond Beginning Mile Post of project. Gravel Pit is on the left side. 

This is a pre-solicitation notice. Proposals will be solicited by the USDA, Forest Service for the Mariposa Area Road Resurfacing project. The intent of this project is to conduct reconditioning efforts and add aggregate surfacing to 8.68 miles of existing aggregate. Surface roads in the Mariposa area of the Pagosa Ranger District. All roads will remain open to public traffic during this contract. Traffic Control will be required at all times. All Forest Service haul roads shall be maintained concurrently in coordination with the COR and dust abatement may be required for haul road safety.

The solicitation and associated attachments will be posted in approximately 30 days. Drawings and specifications will be provided at time of solicitation issuance.

Project Location: Pagosa Springs, CO in Archuleta County - From the Pagosa Ranger District Office, travel east on US Highway 160 for 0.5 miles. Turn right onto US-84e for 0.3 miles, turn left on Mill Creek Road. Continue for 6.7 miles then keep right on to NFSR 665. Follow 665 for 2 miles to the intersection of NFSR 029 where the project begins.

In accordance with FAR 36.204, the estimated magnitude of construction for this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000.

Contractors are required to be actively registered with the System for Award Management (SAM) https://www.sam.gov prior to submitting a proposal and to be considered for award.
