Notice text

Added: Feb 28, 2017 10:12 am The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) intends to award a Firm, Fixed Price (FFP) type contract to General Electric Aviation (GE) to provide the overhaul of the LM2500+ Gas Turbine Engine, S/N GGA-6001 for the use on U.S. Navy ships. The LM2500+ Gas Turbine Engine is a commercial item developed, designed and produced solely by the General Electric.  General Electric is the only source with the complete technical design package for the LM2500+.  The engine overhaul requires blade clearance measurements, the design specifications and technical data required are proprietary to General Electric.  As a result, General Electric is the only firm with the knowledge, experience, facilities and data necessary to complete the LM2500+ overhaul.

The requirement will be issued IAW FAR 6.302-1, utilizing other than full and open competition, as only General Electric can meet the Government's requirements. It is the intention of the Navy to issue this RFQ through electronic means only. This RFQ shall be available upon issuance on or around 21 March 2017 at https://www.fbo.gov. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov.) Any questions regarding this solicitation should be emailed nicole.canfield@nvay.mil. No phone calls will be accepted.
