Update #3 · Latest ·

The purpose of this amendment is to add a question and answer as described below:

Question:
3.2.3.11 Red Hat Operating System Installation and Configuration
We are curious why the Navy is limiting competition for the Linux Operating Systems by specifying only RHEL. Linux is open source software.

Answer: The Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating system (OS) requested is desired to ensure the capability, fit and compatibility of the Linux high performance computing (HPC) Cluster Computer with the pre-existing cluster system currently used on the existing network. Only RHEL will ensure desired capabilities are compatible with pre-existing software in form, fit and function. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements for this follow-on effort and is required to support the existing software build.

Update #2 ·

The purpose of this amendment is to extend the sources sought synopsis through January 4th 2019..

Update #1 ·

The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) intends to procure, on an other than full and open competition basis, Linux HPC Cluster Computers with brand name use of components specified in the attached Statement of Work (SOW) including: Intel Xeon processors, Intel Solid State Hard drive, Broadcom and Intel network ports, Supermicro motherboards, Brocade and Exreme Network Switches, Aspen Cluster Mnagement Environment (ACME) software, Eaton Power Management System, HGST SAS hard drive, and Linux operating system. The hardware and software components must meet the required DOD cybersecurity requirements including NIAP approval. Per FAR 6.302-1(c), the Government is seeking brand name products for the components listed in the Statement of Work. Responsible parties may submit information in which they identify their interest and capabilities to respond to this requirement. The Government will consider all information received via email to the Contract Specialist AND Contracting Officer by 27 December 2018 at 1:00 PM PST. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for any information received. No telephone responses will be accepted. Any submissions shall be submitted via email to adam.j.moran@navy.mil and sarah.ferrucci@navy.mil .

All responsible sources must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database at the following website: https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/.

Written responses shall be submitted by e-mail to the point(s) of contact listed below or mailed to the Contracting Office Address listed below no later than December 27th 2018. (POCs information auto-populates above.)

Going forward, all new entities registering in GSA's System for Award Management (SAM), as well as existing registrations being updated or renewed, will require the submission of an original, signed notarized letter identifying the authorized Entity Administrator for the entity associated with the Data Universal Numbering System (DUNS) number. Effective June 11, 2018, entities who create or update their registration in SAM.gov to apply only for federal assistance opportunities such as grants, loans, and other financial assistance programs, have a notarized letter on file within 30 days of registration. Additionally, Effective June 29, 2018, all non-Federal entities who create or update their registration in SAM.gov, have a notarized letter on file within 30 days of registration. It is recommended that all interested parties be aware that processing this additional information may take several days and are proactive in maintaining the SAM registrations in an "Active" status as the government cannot award to an entity without an "Active" SAM registration. More information can be found at www.gsa.gov/samupdate.
