About this opportunity

The Defense Logistics Agency Maritime Puget Sound is conducting market research to identify potential sources for a Synchronous Lifting System. The procurement involves acquiring a complex assembly that includes four 10,000 PSI pump units, eight stroke sensors, pressure sensors, two control panels, and four miscellaneous cables compatible with existing 1000-ton hydraulic jacks and 3/8 inch inner diameter hydraulic lines. This sources sought notice is classified under NAICS code 332510 for Hardware Manufacturing and is designed to explore market capabilities before initiating a formal solicitation. Interested vendors are invited to submit capability statements that detail their organizational capacity, staff expertise, and technical qualifications. Responses must be submitted via email to naomi.larson@dla.mil by 08:00 a.m. PST on April 28, 2025, with the understanding that this is a voluntary market research effort and not a formal request for proposals.

The opportunity is set aside for total small business participation, indicating a preference for smaller enterprises to compete for the contract. While no specific award value or budget range is mentioned in the pre-solicitation notice, the technical specificity suggests a specialized procurement with potential for a significant contract value. The government is seeking detailed capability statements that demonstrate a vendor's ability to provide the precise lifting system components and ensure compatibility with existing equipment. No incumbent contractors are identified in the document, and the market research phase suggests the agency is exploring multiple potential sources for this equipment. The timeline for potential future solicitation is not explicitly defined, but the market research deadline of April 28, 2025, indicates the agency is actively working to define the procurement strategy and identify qualified vendors.
