NASA/GSFC has a new requirement for nine (9) Latch Valve Flight Units for the Wide Field Infrared Survey Telescope (WFIRST) Project.
WFIRST is a NASA observatory designed to perform wide-field imaging and slitless spectroscopic surveys of the near infrared (NIR) sky for the community as well as direct imaging of exoplanets and debris disks using a coronagraph. WFIRST is the top-ranked large space mission in the New Worlds, New Horizon (NWNH) Decadal Survey of Astronomy and Astrophysics.
This contract will provide the facilities, personnel, services, tools, equipment, and materials necessary to design, analyze, manufacture, test, and deliver the nine (9) Latch Valve Flight Units.
It is anticipated that the subject contract will be a full and open competition, and Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) effort. The period of performance will be for approximately 1 year.
The Government anticipates a release of the Request for Proposal (RFP) on or about June 28, 2019.
The anticipated Small Business goals for this procurement are as follows: Total Small Business Goals 5 percent; Small Disadvantaged Business Concerns (SDB) 1.5 percent; Women Owned Small Business Concerns (WOSB) 1.5 percent; Historically Black Colleges & Universities 0 percent; HUBZone Small Business Concerns .5 percent; Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerns (VOSB) .5 percent; Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concern .3 percent.
The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
