About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command is conducting market research to identify potential contractors for annual maintenance, refurbishment, calibration, and certification of two Leica AT960 Laser Trackers and two T-Probe units at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility. This sources sought notice is designed to determine the availability of small businesses, including Small Disadvantaged Businesses, HUBZone Firms, Certified 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, and Woman Owned Small Business to perform these specialized technical services. Interested parties must submit a capability statement by 1200 HST on May 6, 2025, providing organizational details, contact information, and documentation supporting their technical capabilities. The government will evaluate submissions based on technical merit and capability, with the understanding that this notice does not constitute a formal request for proposals or guarantee any future contract award. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted, and no feedback will be provided to participating companies.
The contract is structured with a base award and four option years, covering the period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2030. While no specific set-aside has been designated, the solicitation strongly encourages participation from small business categories. The maintenance work will require an authorized Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) trained technician capable of performing comprehensive system diagnostics, repairs, firmware upgrades, and full calibration of the precision equipment. Contractors will be expected to conduct maintenance at their own facility, with the government responsible for shipping the laser trackers and probes to and from the maintenance site. The technical requirements include addressing manufacturing defects, providing hardware telephone support, performing thorough cleaning, and ensuring the equipment meets all original manufacturer specifications. Though no specific budget range is mentioned, the detailed performance work statement suggests a specialized and technical scope of work for these precision measurement instruments.
