Description
This announcement is an informational synopsis. This is NOT a request for proposal (RFP) or an invitation for bid (IFB), nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the government. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response.
This informational synopsis is for the Laser Target Locator Module (LTLM) it reflects an acquisition strategy developed by the Product Manager Sensors and Lasers in coordination with Program Executive Office (PEO) Soldier Fort Belvoir, VA and supporting organizations. The LTLM is a Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) item that addresses the need for a lightweight, day and night capability to determine range, direction, and vertical angle to targets. The mission of the LTLM is to provide accurate targeting data to execute effective fires for artillery and mortars. The LTLM consists of a day sight, night sight, laser rangefinder, and digital magnetic compass. The night sight can be either integrated with the system or an add-on night sight. The LTLM will interface with a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver to provide self-location and target location; interface with a Forward Observer Software (FOS) device to transmit targeting information is desired.
The US Army Research and Development Command Acquisition Center intends to award up to two 5 year Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) production contracts to meet Rapid Fielding Initiative (RFI) and Grow-the-Army requirements and to meet the emerging requirement in the US Army Armor Center (USAARMC). The formal Solicitation will be posted to the FedBizOpps on or around 17 June 2008 with responses due no later than 17 July 08.
