Added: Aug 05, 2015 11:06 am Priest Lake, Sandpoint, and Bonners Ferry Ranger Districts of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests (IPNF) will solicit for 2015 Bear Gate Repairs. The project consists of repairing damaged gates; installing government-furnished gates; using rocks or barriers to restrict access around gates, also furnish and install all materials necessary to place a removable ballard. Project locations: Bonners Ferry West, taking Hwy 95 North, left onto Hwy 1 North to Copeland. Turn left and take Copeland road, turn right onto West Side road, turn left on FSR 281 Smith Creek, turn right on Road 282, turn left onto Road 2454, follow to Road 2252. Bonners Ferry East, The northern 3 gates can be accessed by taking old Hwy 2 from Moyie Springs north to the Perkins Lake road, then east to FSR 627. The Southern gates can be accessed by taking Ash Street east from Bonners Ferry, then north onto Cow Creek District 15 road, then turn left onto Katka Road, follow FSR 314. Sandpoint, Northern 3 gates can be accessed by taking Hwy 200, approx 8 miles from Sandpoint, then north on the Culburn Culver road, then east on Grouse Creek road FSR 280. Gate 206 can be accessed by taking Hwy 200 to Trout Creek FSR 232. Priest Lake, 3 gates can be accessed from FSR 302 north from Nordman ID, to roads 638, 1376, and 401. Gate GR9 can be accessed by taking Hwy 57 North from Priest Lake Ranger Station to FSR 308, take FSR 308 to FSR 657. Estimated start date Sept 14, 2015 and complete in 14 calendar days. Solicitation to be issued on or around August 20, 2015.
