Spectromat is the only source reasonably available for this requirement. The Ion Source is uniquely designed by Spectromat to provide a stable intensity beam of elements for analysis. Spectromat has exclusive rights to the design of the Ion Source. The ion source from spectromat GmbH is fully retractable, has a proprietary contact design forfast source exchange and is fully optimized for MAT262 TI-Box mass spectrometers for highest ionization efficiency of 0.1% and designed for a large acceleration voltage scale from 7.7 to 9.2 kV. Any other Ion source used as retractable unit in the ion source housing from spectromat GmbH could change the dimensions conditions inside the ion source housing (e.g., distance between ion source and ion source housing) and could lead to high voltage flashovers. The ion source housing of the MAT 262 TI-Box system at U.S. Geological Survey is a proprietary product of Spectromat GmbH and the according ion source cannot be supplied by any other manufacturer.
