In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Part 6.302-1, the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 7, on behalf of the Region 7 Science and Technology Center (STC) in Kansas City, KS intends to award a fixed price purchase order on a sole source basis to Xylem, Inc. for the purpose of obtaining, several pieces of Xylem Brand equipment (including exo sondes) that are needed in order to continue conducting essential field operations. The only equipment that has been found to be compatible with EPA Region 7¿s existing equipment is Xylem Brand¿s equipment. It is essential that the new equipment be compatible with EPA¿s existing equipment in order to eliminate the downtime which would occur if the ready interchange of parts or to act as backup should a piece of the existing equipment malfunctions or breaks while in use. Xylem, Inc is the sole manufacturer of Xylem Brand Products. No known potential alternate sources exist which could meet EPA Region 7¿s requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for quote/proposal. Any interested party that believes it is capable of meeting the requirements described herein may identify themselves and must provide evidence of their capability to fulfill the requirement being requested by 4:00 pm CT on Monday, June 8, 2020. Responses must be submitted in writing to dickerson.shaneka@epa.gov no later than the time and date noted above. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 334516. All current and potential contractors shall use FedConnect which is at https://www.fedconnect.net/FedConnect/default.htm. There is no charge to use FedConnect. FedConnect is hosted by Compusearch, all related questions from vendors/contractors will be answered by Compusearch.
