About this opportunity
The Naval Air Warfare Center, Weapons Division, China Lake, CA intends to procure two Munitions Trailers MHU-202/M (Part Number: 1905AS100-1) through a sole source acquisition. The requirement is being awarded exclusively to Hydraulics International, INC. located at 9201 Independence Avenue, Chatsworth, CA 91311, as they are identified as the only vendor capable of producing this specific trailer model. This sole source justification is based on the fact that this particular model is the only one approved in the maintenance instruction manuals (MIM) 05, making it the sole acceptable option for the Navy's requirements. Although this is a sole source procurement, the contracting office is allowing other firms to submit capability statements demonstrating their experience, assets, background, and ability to perform the required work without compromising quality, accuracy, reliability, and schedule. All responses must reference solicitation number N6893625Q0079 and be submitted to Gwynn Hartkopf at gwynn.l.hartkopf.civ@us.navy.mil within five days of the July 14, 2025 publication date, making the deadline July 19, 2025.
This procurement does not utilize any set-aside designations and is being conducted under the NAICS code 336214 for Travel Trailer and Camper Manufacturing and PSC code 1740 for Airfield Specialized Trucks And Trailers. Hydraulics International, INC. is positioned as the incumbent contractor given their exclusive approval status for this specific munitions trailer model. While no specific contract value is disclosed in this pre-solicitation notice, the procurement involves a quantity of two munitions trailers. All potential contractors must maintain active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) database and obtain certification through Defense Logistics Information Services (DLIS) to access Controlled Unclassified Information within the contract opportunity. The government emphasizes that SAM registration processing may take several days and entities must maintain "Active" status since awards cannot be made to entities without active SAM registrations.
