The solicitation is a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 326122 (Plastics Pipe and Pipe Fitting Manufacturing), with potential vendors required to be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database. The hose assemblies are intended for use at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard, with specific requirements including nitrile rubber construction, UV protection, brass cam and groove fittings, and stainless steel components. Vendors must provide a certificate of conformance and adhere to special packaging requirements that prevent damage such as kinking, gouges, cuts, or abrasions. Five suggested sources are identified, including International Belt and Rubber Supply, Unisource Manufacturing Inc., Hosepower, Hydra Air Pacific, and Thermoid. Each hose assembly must undergo hydrostatic testing at 275 PSIG and receive a unique serial number, with vendors potentially subject to sample destructive testing.
