Notice text

Added: Aug 07, 2017 2:47 pm The John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center), Cambridge, MA in close cooperation with the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Office of Environment and Energy (AEE) and the National Aeronautical and Space Administration (NASA) is conducting helicopter acoustics measurements in a joint NASA-FAA acoustic test of the Eurcopter EC-130 helicopter at Amedee Army Airfield, California, from October 23-28, 2017.  In order to undertake noise abatement research and operator outreach activities, it is necessary for Volpe to collect source noise information for civilian helicopters.  The Government has a requirement to charter an EC-130 helicopter.  The Government intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis under FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b) to Maverick Aviation Group of Las Vegas, NV. Maverick Aviation Group is the only operator that meets the test charter criteria within the maximum 25 miles of the test range and is a commercial helicopter operator. Maverick Aviation Group can supply the EC-130 helicopter in good condition and available for charter with well-trained pilots who can perform the acoustic test flights; and therefore is the only contractor that can meet the Government's requirement. The NAICS Code is 481212; the Small Business size standard is 1500 employees.
