About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs Long Beach Healthcare System (VALBHCS) is seeking hemodialysis water testing services through a Sources Sought Request for Information (RFI). The contract will require comprehensive water quality testing, specifically Bacteria/Colony Count and LAL/Endotoxin testing, with contractors responsible for providing all necessary sample collection supplies. Interested vendors must submit a detailed response by February 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM, including company information, SAM UEI, small business classification, a capability statement, and an informal price list covering a base year and four option years. Respondents are encouraged to provide specific examples of similar past performance and proof of relevant certifications. The government will use these responses exclusively for market research and acquisition planning purposes, with potential for a future solicitation on SAM.gov.
The VA is particularly interested in Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB), with the potential to set aside the solicitation if two or more qualified vendors are identified. While no specific contract value was disclosed, the testing scope includes 63 monthly tests with specific performance requirements, including test result turnaround times of 3-4 days. The testing must comply with AAMI TIR-34 standards, with alert limits set at 50 CFU/mL for Bacteria/Colony Count and 1 Eu/mL for LAL/Endotoxin. All potential contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database and include current representations and certifications. The contract falls under NAICS code 541380 for Testing Laboratories and Services, with services to be performed at the VA Long Beach Healthcare System located in Long Beach, California.
