Added: Jun 04, 2018 1:16 pm The U.S. Department of Agriculture, ARS, WBSC, Peoria, IL, intends to award a sole source procurement to Neogen Corporation, 620 Lesher PL., Lansing, MI, 48912 for Genotyping Bovine. The following services will be provided by Neogen Corporation:

The SFA and GPE experiment requires genotypes for 1800 animal for 200,000 functional variants that are identical to those previously obtained on parents in these experiments. For SFA, these (980 animals) meet the experimental objective of comparing differences between animals selected for an index of these variants and those that are not. For GPE, we will be genotyping 200 foundational animals with these functional variant markers and imputing the genotypes to animals with phenotypic records (2,000 animals) using lower density panels; these panels are selected to be complementary with previous genotypes obtained for this population.


Neogen Corporation is a private provider of DNA testing for animal agribusiness and veterinary medicine Company based in Lansing, Michigan.


Pursuant to the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The services will be provided for the USDA-ARS-PA, USMARC, P.O. Box 166, Clay Center, NE 68933. The Government intends to award a firm fixed price purchase order on or about June 7, 2018. This Notice of Intent is not considered a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a Request for Proposals (RFP). No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will consider all responses received by 11:00AM Central Standard Time, June 7, 2018. Information received will be considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
