About this opportunity
The Defense Logistics Agency Aviation (DLA Aviation) is conducting a market research effort to procure 62 Fuel Control units with NSN 2910-01-135-5681 and Part Number 160034-400. The pre-solicitation notice serves multiple purposes, including determining market capabilities, improving small business access to acquisition information, and enhancing competition by identifying potential contracting opportunities. The procurement will be processed under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(C)(1), which indicates the supplies are available from a limited number of responsible sources. The government has determined it would be uneconomical to purchase data rights or reverse engineer the part. Interested parties have 15 days from the January 7, 2025 posting date (with a response deadline of January 23, 2025) to contact the contracting officer and demonstrate their capability to satisfy the government's requirements.
The procurement is not set aside for small businesses, and the estimated delivery schedule targets September 4, 2026. Two potential firms mentioned in the notice are AAR Supply Chain Inc. and Pratt & Whitney, which are suggested as potential subcontracting partners. The contract is classified under NAICS category 336310 for Motor Vehicle Gasoline Engine and Engine Parts Manufacturing, with a Product Service Code of 2910 for Engine Fuel System Components. While the notice does not specify a precise award value, it indicates the procurement is for 62 units of the specified fuel control component. The acquisition is subject to Free Trade Agreements, and the contracting office is located at 6051 Gum Lane, Hill AFB, Utah. Interested firms are encouraged to review the details and contact the designated government point of contact, Scottina Malia, at scottina.malia@us.af.mil.
