About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure 6 units of Filter Unit, Fluid, P (NSN 7H-4330-200028647) with delivery FOB origin. This procurement falls under the centrifugals, separators, and pressure and vacuum filters category and represents a specialized acquisition where the government does not own the data or rights to the data needed for alternative sourcing options. The agency has determined it would be uneconomical to purchase the data rights or reverse engineer the part, suggesting this is a sole-source or limited-source procurement. Interested parties have until August 8, 2025 to respond to this pre-solicitation notice, and companies not currently approved as sources can express interest through the NAVSUP Business Opportunities web portal. The procurement is subject to Free Trade Agreements and World Trade Organization Government Procurement Agreement provisions if applicable DFARS clauses are included in the eventual solicitation.
No set-aside designation has been applied to this procurement opportunity, making it a full and open competition in theory, though the lack of government-owned technical data may limit practical competition. The notice does not identify any current incumbents or contractors, nor does it specify award values or budget ranges for the acquisition. The key numerical details include a quantity of 6 units and reference to technical data package version 003 with reference number 741141. The procurement timeline extends from the April 22, 2025 posting date through the August 8, 2025 due date, providing approximately 3.5 months for interested parties to prepare responses. Companies must note that the award process will not be delayed for vendors seeking approval who are not currently on the approved sources list for this specific item.
