About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is procuring Filter, Demister units under National Stock Number 1H-4470-003348595-X3, Technical Data Package Version 007. This pre-solicitation notice indicates the Navy intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1 authority, though all responsible sources may submit proposals, quotations, or capability statements to express interest and capability. The procurement will be evaluated based on the ability to meet technical specifications outlined in the Military and Federal Specifications and Standards, Qualified Products Lists, and other standardized documents available through the DoD Single Stock Point. Key technical documentation can be accessed through ASSIST-Online at http://quicksearch.dla.mil/ or obtained by contacting the DoD Document Services. The pre-solicitation notice was posted on February 12, 2026, with a deadline of March 16, 2026 for interested parties to respond, providing a 32-day window for submission.
This contract opportunity is designated as a Total Small Business set-aside, restricting competition to small business concerns. The procurement calls for 24 units of the filter/demister equipment to be delivered to two locations: DLA Distribution at New Cumberland, Pennsylvania and DLA Distribution San Joaquin in Tracy, California. While the pre-solicitation notice does not specify an award value or budget range, the relatively modest quantity of 24 units suggests a moderate contract value. The notice emphasizes that the Government does not own the rights to use technical data needed to purchase or repair this part from additional sources, and it would be uneconomical to reverse engineer the component, underscoring the importance of understanding technical specifications before proposal submission.
