About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy Naval Supply Systems Command is seeking to procure a Filter Assembly (NSN 1H-4330-015638510-X3) with Technical Drawing Package Version 006. The government requires 108 units to be delivered to distribution centers in Norfolk, VA and Puget Sound, WA. A critical aspect of this procurement is that the government does not own the technical data rights for this part, which impacts potential sourcing and has been deemed uneconomical to acquire or reverse engineer. Award will be contingent upon the offeror, product, and manufacturer meeting specific qualification requirements in accordance with FAR clause 52.209-1. Interested parties have 15 days from the notice date to identify their capability to satisfy the requirement with a commercial item, and must obtain necessary specification documents through the DoD Single Stock Point (DODSSP) using ASSIST-Online or by contacting their help desk.
The solicitation is a total small business set-aside, with potential for further designation under specific small business categories including HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned, or Women-Owned Small Business programs. The pre-solicitation was posted on January 17, 2025, with responses due by February 17, 2025. The procurement falls under Product Service Code 4330 for centrifugals, separators, and pressure and vacuum filters. No specific award value is mentioned in the notice, but the requirement is for 108 units to be distributed across two naval distribution centers. The government has determined that this procurement will not follow FAR Part 12 policies for commercial item acquisition, suggesting a specialized or military-specific requirement for the filter assembly.
