The Naval Air Warfare Center -Weapons Development (NAWCWD) intends to award a sole source contract to Avionics Interface Technologies in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source that possesses the unique capability and expertise that can satisfy the requirement.

The purpose of this requirement is to purchase up to fifteen (15) Fiber Channel Interface Units (FCIC) units from Avionics Interface Technologies. The FCIU units are highly specialized and available only from Avionics Interface Technologies, the original developer and manufacturer.

The FCIU units needed by the NAWCWD E/A-18G and NGJ programs need to be identical in form, fit, and function with the previously supplied units in order to be interchangeable among the aircraft utilized for testing at either the Pacific or Atlantic Test Range facilities.

Key requirements are, but not limited to, the following:
• The FCIU accepts 16 Fiber Channel inputs and has the capability to filter data. The FCIU has 2 Ethernet outputs and two PCM outputs.
• This data will be telemetered to ground stations located on the test ranges.

Any alternative solution proposed by another vendor must be a form, fit, and function drop-in replacement for the current FCIU supplied by Avionics Interface Technologies.
