About this opportunity
The Department of the Navy's Naval Sea Systems Command has issued a Justification and Approval for the use of other than full and open competition to award a firm-fixed price contract to National Instruments Corporation (NI) for the procurement of 21 NI 4800 compact battery cyclers and 21 NI Compact Reconfigurable Input Output (cRIO) 9045 data acquisition and control units. This specialized hardware is required to integrate with the Government's existing battery testing software and infrastructure, which is based on NI's LabVIEW platform. Transitioning to a different vendor's hardware would require significant software redevelopment at an estimated cost of $2 million, as well as replacement of 43 existing NI battery test stations at a cost of $5.6 million. The total estimated cost of this sole source procurement is $700,000.
